Greetings!
Here's a little about me:
I have taught composition classes at State University of New York at Binghamton and Seattle Central Community College. I have also taught high school English and journalism. I have been a distance learning instructor since 1994, first at Seattle Central and then at the University of Washington. Concurrently I am Sr. Instructional Designer at University of Washington Educational Outreach. I am a member of the International Brecht Society (IBS) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). I am the chair of NCTE's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Academic Studies Advisory Committee (LGBT Advisory Committee). My research focuses on the differing language and cultural norms of queer and straight society and the effect of these differences on the interface between the queer community and straight culture.
I love dancing and spending time with my family and friends. I am a new P-Patch gardener and am happy for any tips for successful gardening.
I hope that Queer Foundation projects will encourage everyone involved in them to be their best and to go on to inspire others as well.
You can reach me via e-mail at jdial@post.harvard.edu.
Best wishes,
Joseph Dial, Executive Director
