Here's a little about me:Joseph Dial

I have taught literature and composition classes at State University of New York at Binghamton and Seattle Central Community College. For eleven years I was a middle school and high school English language arts teacher in Issaquah, WA. I am a member of the International Brecht Society (IBS) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). I am a former chair of NCTE's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Issues in Academic Studies Advisory Committee (LGBT Advisory Committee). My research interest is the differing language and cultural norms of queer and straight society and the effect of these differences on the interface between the queer community and straight culture.

I love dancing and spending time with my family and friends. I am a home gardener and would be grateful for any tips for successful gardening in my new home. It is in the woods east of Seattle where I am visited constantly by herds of elk!

I hope that Queer Foundation projects will encourage everyone involved in them to be their best and to go on to inspire others as well.
